Being a sustainable company in Friuli Venezia Giulia means responding to three key concepts: consistency, concreteness and collaboration. These three concepts give rise to the partnership that Maddalena S.p.A. and Gruppo Illiria S.p.A. have been forging for years.
The sustainable projects that the two Companies are pursuing, aim to improve the service from the point of view of both, environmental sustainability and food well-being.
To begin this journey, Wami water – the Italian company whose goal is ‘to bring drinking water to as many people as possible’) was placed in vending machines. But it is also possible to find as healthy, gluten-free, KM0 or organic products (a request linked to the WHP Project involving Maddalena S.p.A. in the year 2019),
Working together to reduce our enviromental impact
Reducing the environmental impact of plastic, currently, the second largest source of greenhouse gas emissions is of primary importance. The introduction of Hybrid40 recyclable cups aims to contribute in reaching this goal: producing these cups reduces the Co2 released into the environment by 40%. In addition to reducing the environmental impact of coffee breaks, Hybrid40 cups are 100% recyclable.
The choice of San Benedetto Ecogreen, Acqua San Benedetto’s sustainable line, brings the company ever closer to achieving its goals. San Benedetto Ecogreen is designed to be zero-impact, the plastic used for the bottles is 100% recyclable and the cap does not leak into the environment.
Last but not least, a Circular Economy project that gives new value to, and recovers coffee by- products, normally treated as waste. During 2021, Illiria Group collected 524.78 kg of such by-products, which were then used in a project to produce alternative energy. In doing so, Maddalena S.p.A., thanks to the Illiria Group S.p.A., has helped to save over 58 kg of oil and produce 314.87 kWh of energy, for a total of 126.58 kg of Co2 not released into the atmosphere.
