Yesterday, the 2022/23 Sustainability Report was presented, a key document that allows Maddalena SpA to share its journey with Stakeholders, demonstrating how sustainability has become an integral part of its business model and growth strategy.
Attorney Carlotta Campeis was also invited to the event, where she highlighted crucial issues that can no longer be delayed. She explored the sustainability report as a strategic tool for companies, explaining how complying with ESG regulations is not just a legal requirement but a valuable opportunity to enhance ethics and transparency towards stakeholders. Through the adoption of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and recent constitutional amendments, companies are encouraged to integrate sustainable practices across their value chain, reducing greenwashing risks and improving their market reputation and competitiveness.
Transparency, Innovation, and Concrete Commitment
The report was developed following the most recognized international reporting standards, including the GRI Standards and the new ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards), aligned with the CSRD Directive. With a double materiality analysis, the report highlights not only the impact of business activities on the environment and society but also how these aspects affect financial and competitive performance.
This innovative approach once again placed Maddalena SpA in the rankings for the 2024 Sustainability Award in the categories “TOP 100 Excellence,” “TOP 75 Performers,” and the new “TOP ESG Integrated Finance.”
The Value Creation Model, based on the Integrated Reporting Standard, also serves as an innovative tool to consolidate the company’s long-term strategic sustainability goals. This model identifies six categories of Capital (financial, productive, human, social and relational, natural, and intellectual), managed carefully to generate sustainable and competitive value in a complex context. Through prudent management, this model enables the transformation of resources and company activities into measurable outputs and outcomes, reflecting the company’s positive impact on stakeholders and strengthening its essential assets. These outcomes, summarized with performance indicators, demonstrate how Maddalena SpA generates not only economic but also social and environmental value, fostering sustainable and transparent growth.
Accessibility and Clarity
To make the document more accessible and immediate, each section was assigned a color representing the main thematic areas and characterizing the elements of each chapter: red for introductory and general sections, blue for economic performance, green for the environmental section, and yellow for social topics. A gray section at the end hosts in-depth appendices and a glossary designed to make technical content understandable for all.
Each chapter opens with significant KPIs achieved by the company as of December 31, 2023, highlighted by the aforementioned Value Creation Model.
Available online (in a format accessible through the side navigation bar) and in printed copies (on FSC-certified paper), the 2022/2023 Sustainability Report shares Maddalena SpA’s journey in achieving Environmental, Social, and Governance performance and underscores its role as a Sustainability Ambassador.
